About

Can I Self-Host It? answers one question per page: for the SaaS you're paying for, can you run the open-source equivalent yourself — and if so, exactly how. It takes two prompts: one to get a bare machine ready, then one per app. Every prompt assumes nothing is installed. Not even git.

The site is open source (MIT), the prompts are free forever, and the things that keep your data safe — backup, restore, TLS renewal, the basic upgrade — will never be paywalled.

Reviewed by Jashanpreet Singh. Drafting is AI-assisted; every published prompt must run end-to-end on a clean machine before it earns a stamp, and pages that haven't are labelled. The full rulebook is on /methodology.
